This is the kind of work that Electricians get blamed for...
We are always getting blamed for things like this. These guys should stick to the maintenance work and leave the electrical to us! It always amazes me though, that this stuff works when they are done, at least for a little while! This guy added a separate cut-in box right next to existing switches, he used 12/2 romex, a metal box, romex connectors INSIDE the box with no locknuts, no grounding of box or switch, and a 3way switch for single pole application. I was amazed that the switch never shorted out with all that mess inside the metal box!!
